 Locked DoorsMinimize
Keeping students safe and secure is our number one priority at Sandburg. This is a huge but imperative task! It is complicated by our open campus and number of access points. We cannot predict how someone will choose to solve a personal or social dilemma. There is no way to look at a person and know their intent. For these reasons, we are asking for your continued support in making Sandburg Elementary School a safe place everyday. Here’s how you can be additional ears and eyes for us:
  1. Report all adults not wearing a badge to the office immediately.
  2. Look around you as you come into and leave the building.
  3. Report all suspicious vehicles and persons immediately either to the office or 911.
  4. Respect the safety policies in place at Sandburg. Check in at the office and wear a badge. Remember that the office doors are the only unlocked doors during the school day. All students must enter the building with their teachers through the south access points off the South Playground or through the office doors at the beginning of the day.
  5. Preschool parents must sign in at their child’s classroom and must also check in at the office if they plan to go to any other part of the building.
  6. If your child arrives on or after 9:01 please direct them to enter the front lobby doors.
Parents, please do not enter the building through the south lobby door or ask a duty to let you in at a locked access point. You must come to the office through the lobby entrances. Thank you for your cooperation.
