·        Out of 10 assessments—3^rd Grade Reading/Writing/Math, 4^th Grade Reading/Writing/Math, and 5^th Grade Reading/Writing/Math/Science—Sandburg students had a net increase of 40 percentage point!

·        Comparing 2006 to 2007 cohorts (same group of students):

o       Reading 3^rd to 4^th grade increased 78% to 86% P&A

o       Reading 4^th to 5^th grade increased 77% to 91% P&A

o       Writing 3^rd to 4^th grade remained consistent 70% to 68% P&A

o       Writing 4^th to 5^th increased 59% to 73% P&A

o       Math 3^rd to 4^th increased 84% to 88% P&A

o       Math 4^th to 5^th increased 78% to 87% P&A

·        Comparing 2006 to 2007 grade level achievement (different groups of students):

o       Reading 3^rd remained consistent 78% to 77% P&A

o       Reading 4^th increased 77% to 86% P&A

o       Reading 5^th increased 81% to 91% P&A

o       Writing 4^th increased 59% to 68% P&A

o       Writing 5^th remained consistent 72% to 73% P&A

o       Math 3^rd remained consistent 84% to 83% P&A

o       Math 4^th increased 78% to 88% P&A

o       Math 5^th increased 78% to 87%

·        Advanced scores also reached new highs (CSAP 2001- 2007)

o       Math 5^th grade 48% advanced

o       Math 4^th grade 58% advanced

o       Writing 4^th grade 17% advanced

o       Reading 4^th grade 16% advanced
