Hello! My name is Katie Moriarty and I am one of the third grade teachers here at Sandburg Elementary. The 2007-2008 school year will be my third year at Sandburg. I have my Bachelor's degree in Communication and Elementary Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Language, Literacy and Culture at the University of Colorado at Denver.

I am a Colorado native and actually grew up in Littleton and Highlands Ranch. I currently live in Denver where I enjoy outdoor activities such as playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, and snowboarding.

Working in education allows me to use my creative talents and determined outlook to motivate children to learn. I believe in empowering children. I strive to teach my students to face challenges, to overcome obstacles, and to be confident learners, and of course, to have fun!
