Hello! My name is Susan Jiskra. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, a M.A. in Counseling, and a N.D. in Naturopathy with an emphasis in holistic nutrition. This will be my eleventh year at Sandburg and my sixth year as a first grade teacher.

Ten years ago, my husband and I moved to Littleton because of the school system. Our three daughters (now in college) found great success in a learning environment that has prepared them for future endeavors. 

First grade is an exciting time as children enter upon new adventures in the arena of learning. This is a year of essential transitions, as well as one in which attainment of new skills is accelerated.  Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready.  Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in my first grade classroom.
