Students should expect 50-60 minutes of homework per night.  This could cover one subject area or a few different subjects in one evening.  Additionally, students will have a weekly spelling, vocabulary and prefix/suffix/root word tests that they should study for throughout the week. 

Homework will usually be an extension of what we were working on in class, a review of previously learned concepts, or assignments that they have not completed in class.  I also expect students to read independent material 3-4 nights per week.  They could read by themselves or to a family member.  They should record thier reading time on charts they will receive in class. 

The students will record their homework assignments in a daily planner they receive from the school.  Weekly spelling words will be available through this website however nightly homework assignments will be the responsibility of the student to write down in class.  Daily assignments will be written on the board for students to copy.
