~*~*~ Overall Fundraising Goal: $95,000  ~*~*~

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is an integral piece of Sandburg’s success. Sandburg PTO is proud to offer supplemental funding for the school. By supporting the PTO fundraisers, you are directly contributing to the continued success of your child’s education. The fundraising goal for 2012/2013 is $95,000.

There are two sections of Fundraising at Sandburg:

Core Fundraisers

and

Community Partnerships

CORE FUNDRAISERS

PTO has created four diverse Core Fundraisers to best suit your family. We are able to keep our fundraisers to a minimum of four only with your continued support. We ask that you would financially support one or more of these programs so that we can continue to provide your children with the unique programs that Sandburg provides.

  1. Commitment Campaign (September 6 – 24, 2012) – This is a pledge/donation drive. If every family were able to give $25.00 per month or $300 total, we would exceed our Fundraising goal of $95,000 this year! Every donation in any amount helps.

  2. Scholastic Book Fair (November 12 – 15, 2012) – This is a fun and inexpensive way to purchase books for your children, friends, neighbors, and/or gifts.

  3. Auction (February 23, 2013) – A fun evening out where you can purchase a variety of items including the popular teacher raffle while raising money for your child’s educational benefit.

  4. Checkbooks (April 1 – 12th) – This coupon book contains over $300.00 in value for local merchants.

With your continued generosity, your child directly benefits as an individualized learner from:

The Supplemental Support:

  • Collaborative teaching models for literacy, technology and science
  • Para-professionals who provide smaller group and individualized instruction in reading, writing and math
  • Lower student to Teacher ratios
  • “Special” programs such as Art, Music, Physical Education

The Sandburg Center for the Sciences:

  • Inquiry- based learning
  • Natural sciences fieldwork
  • Hands-on projects

The Technology your child receives is:

  • Net books
  • Computers
  • Document cameras
  • Digital microscopes and cameras
  • State of the art sound systems

The Community Events include:

  • Fall Family Picnic
  • Heart Run
  • Jungle Ropes
  • Music Performances
  • Spring Arts Shows
  • Field Day

The Library provides:

  • One of the few teaching Libraries in Littleton Public School District
  • Rich classroom extension
  • Integrated units of study
  • Information literacy
  • Reading and writing strategies for non-fiction work

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

The Community Partnership Programs do not require any additional spending from you, but instead ask for a small commitment of your time or change in the way you currently do things. These include:

  1. Gift Card Program - Purchase Gift Cards for just about anything (groceries, restaurants, clothes, entertainment, coffee, gasoline, pharmacies, etc.) and Sandburg receives a percentage rebate in return. You get 100% of your purchase and Sandburg receives approximately 5% of the face value of the card!

Gift cards are available online, in the Sandburg lobby (Monday & Friday’s at 8:45 am) or via email. Please see the attached or contact Crysti at crysticopp@gmail.com for more information.

  2. Community/Internet Partnerships – Use your Target Red Card Visa, link it to Sandburg on their “Take Charge of Education” page and Sandburg receives 1% of what you spend. Also, use a free Albertson’s Community Card (not the same as credit card) and Sandburg PTO receives approximately 2% of your purchase. Please contact Leah at leahrichards7@gmail.com for more information.

  3. Box Tops - Collect and leave your box-top labels in the Sandburg Lobby. Sandburg receives $.10 for each coupon.

  4. Escrip: Register your Safeway card and all your credit and debit cards using the links on Sandburg's site. Sandburg earns rebates for every dollar spent. Website is secure.
